【摘要】:ThetestmethodprovidesarelativelysimplemethodfordeterminationoftheconcentrationofRDPwithouttheneedforspecialtyequipmentbuiltexpresslyforsuchpurposes.UsingthistestmethodwillaffordinvestigatorsofradonindwellingsatechniquebywhichtheRDPcanbedetermined.Theuseoftheresultsofthistestmethodaregenerallyfordiagnosticpurposesandarenotnecessarilyindicativeofresultsthatmightbeobtainedbylongertermmeasurementmethods.Animprovedunderstandingofthefrequencyofelevatedradoninbuildingsandthehealtheffectofexposurehasincreasedtheimportanceofknowledgeofactualexposures.ThemeasurementofRDP,whicharethedirectcauseofpotentialadversehealtheffects,shouldbeconductedinamannerthatisuniformandreproducible;itistothisendthatthistestmethodisaddressed.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesinstructionforusingthegrabsamplingfiltertechniquetodetermineaccurateandreproduciblemeasurementsofindoorradondecayproduct(RDP)concentrationsandoftheworkinglevelvaluecorrespondingtothoseconcentrations.1.2MeasurementsmadeinaccordancewiththistestmethodwillproduceRDPconcentrationsrepresentativeofclosed-buildingconditions.Resultsofmeasurementsmadeunderclosed-buildingconditionswillhaveasmallervariabilityandaremorereproduciblethanmeasurementsobtainedwhenbuildingconditionsarenotcontrolled.Thistestmethodmaybeutilizedundernon-controlledconditions,butagreaterdegreeofvariabilityintheresultswilloccur.Variabilityintheresultsmayalsobeanindicationoftemporalvariabilitypresentatthesamplingsite.1.3Thistestmethodutilizesashortsamplingperiodandtheresultsareindicativeoftheconditionsonlyattheplaceandtimeofsampling.Theresultsobtainedbythistestmethodarenotnecessarilyindicativeoflongertermsofsamplingandshouldnotbeconfusedwithsuchresults.Theaveragingofmultiplemeasurementsoverhoursanddayscan,however,provideusefulscreeninginformation.Individualmeasurementsaregenerallyobtainedfordiagnosticpurposes.1.4Therangeofthetestmethodmaybeconsideredfrom0.0005WLtounlimitedworkinglevels(WL),andfrom40Bq/m3tounlimitedforeachindividualrandondecayproduct.1.5Thistestmethodprovidesinformationonequipment,procedures,andqualitycontrol.Itprovidesformeasurementswithintypicalresidentialorbuildingenvironmentsandmaynotnecessarilyapplytospecializedcircumstances,forexample,cleanrooms.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection9foradditionalprecautions.
