【摘要】:ShearmodulusisamaterialpropertyusefulincalculatingcomplianceofstructuralmaterialsintorsionprovidedtheyfollowHooke’law,thatis,theangleoftwistisproportionaltotheappliedtorque.Examplesoftheuseofshearmodulusareinthedesignofrotatingshaftsandhelicalcompressionsprings.Note38212;Formaterialsthatfollownonlinearelasticstress-strainbehavior,thevalueoftangentorchordshearmodulusisusefulforestimatingthechangeintorsionalstraintocorrespondingstressforaspecifiedstressorstress-range,respectively.Suchdeterminationsare,however,outsidethescopeofthisstandard.(SeeforexampleRef(1).)3Theproceduralstepsandprecisionoftheapparatusandthetestspecimensshouldbeappropriatetotheshapeandthematerialtype,sincethemethodappliestoawidevarietyofmaterialsandsizes.Precisedeterminationofshearmodulusdependsonthenumerousvariablesthatmayaffectsuchdeterminations.5.3.1Thesefactorsincludecharacteristicsofthespecimensuchasresidualstress,concentricity,wallthicknessinthecaseoftubes,deviationfromnominalvalue,previousstrainhistoryandspecimendimension.5.3.2Testingconditionsthatinfluencetheresultsinclude:axialpositionofthespecimen,temperatureandtemperaturevariations,andmaintenanceoftheapparatus.5.3.3Interpretationofdataalsoinfluencesresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofshearmodulusofstructuralmaterials.Thistestmethodislimitedtomaterialsinwhich,andtostressesatwhich,creepisnegligiblecomparedtothestrainproducedimmediatelyuponloading.Elasticpropertiessuchasshearmodulus,Young'smodulus,andPoisson'sratioarenotdeterminedroutinelyandaregenerallynotspecifiedinmaterialsspecifications.Precisionandbiasstatementsforthesetestmethodsarethereforenotavailable.1.2Valuesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.SIunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3ttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
