【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedfortheacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofwooltop,cardsliver,orscouredwoolsincetherefereemethod,TestMethodD2130,isrecommendedforthatpurpose.Althoughthistestmethodisnotrecommendedforacceptancetesting,itisusefulforfastqualitycontrolchecks..Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,usethesamplesforsuchacomparativetestthatareashomogenousaspossible,drawnfromthesamelotofmaterialasthesamplesthatresultedindisparateresultsduringinitialtestingandrandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratory.Thetestresultsfromthelaboratoriesinvolvedshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,aprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifbiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsforthatmaterialmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Thespecificareaofthewoolfibersismeasuredbytheresistanceinairflow.Theresistancetoairflowhasbeenrelatedtoaveragefiberdiametermeasuredbythemicroprojectionmethod.Theinstrumentshavebeencalibratedtoreadaveragediameterinmicrometres.Althoughthereadingisaffectedbytheaveragefiberdiameterdistributionofthespecimen,theresultssecuredbytheinstrumentsgivenoindicationofthisdistribution.However,inconvertingthemicrometresreadingtomillitexunits(AnnexA1),low,medium,andhighstandarddeviationswereusedinthecalculationstoarriveattherangeofmillitexunitswhichaccordinglyreflectthedistributionoffiberdiameters.
